Herefordshire Music Service has for decades provided high quality county bands, orchestras and other ensembles. In January 2017 we launched Herefordshire Youth Choir, which has already in its first year performed on BBC Songs of Praise, the turning on of Hereford’s Christmas lights and for BBC Hereford and Worcester’s Carol Service. We have around 300 young people in our ensembles and a new choir…..but we are not stopping there!
Herefordshire Music Service is delighted to announce a new partnership with Hereford College of Arts. We are launching ‘Herefordshire Academy of Rock and Pop’ as a new strand to the county’s ensemble provision. So, if you are a guitarist, drummer, vocalist or keyboard player with an interest in rock and pop and other contemporary styles, come and join in this incredible opportunity. Have the opportunity to work with highly experienced rock and pop specialists, play in a band and perform. We meet for the first time on 20th and 21st of February 2018 at Hereford College of Arts. The heavily subsidised cost is only £40 for the two days. These two launch days are open to pupils in secondary schools and sixth form colleges, but if you are in Key Stage 2 don’t worry because we plan to open it up to you during the year.
