Are you a vocal expert? Do you have the passion to pass on your skills and love of singing to children, young people and adults? If you have answered yes, then that’s only part of the role! What is unique about this position, is that it is as much about wellbeing as it is about singing. We are seeking a vocal professional who understands the power of music to support mental health and wellbeing, who can then deliver this through a range of singing activities.

Encore Enterprises is an established Herefordshire social enterprise running Encore Music Service (schools), Encore Youth Music (ensembles) and Encore Community Music (adults). Encore is committed to equal opportunities for both our staff and our community.

Our new SFWL will have the opportunity to design and lead our brand new ‘Social-I -Sing’ programme. The vision is to:

- develop cross-curricular singing for wellbeing activities for schools, linked to the Music Education Hub singing strategy

- develop singing for wellbeing activities for young people out of school, including supporting any current vocal activities

- develop a range of singing for wellbeing activities across the county to adults, including social prescribing models linked to colleagues in health care

We would like to appoint a colleague who can deliver both the project activities and also CPD to others. Therefore, any previous experience in delivering training would be advantageous.

Encore offers attractive flexible working arrangements. The successful applicant will be able to choose between a term time only contract (with a little flexibility for any out of term time activities) or approx. 0.8 (4 days per week) all year round. The full time equivalent salary is around 26K rising to 30k over 3 years, so the remuneration would be pro-rata (approx 80% of this). The post would be offered on a 3 year contract, with the ambition to continue the programme beyond this. Start date negotiable but no later than 1st September 2022. The postholder will be required to travel throughout the county. Encore Enterprises has a Safer Recruitment policy and ALL successful candidates will require an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

If you are a hardworking and committed colleague who is inspired by the opportunity to design a brand new Social-I-Sing model for Herefordshire, then you can find more information along with an application form below.

Closing date for applications: Monday 2nd May
