Trustees of Encore

Encore is a cultural organisation specialising in the provision of Music, based in the rural county of Herefordshire. We were formed in July 2012 originally as a CIC (Community Interest Company) from an externalised County Music Service. Due to many of our community services being of a charitable nature, in September 2023 we took the decision to become a charity (Charitable Incorporated Organisation). The organisation is run with a small team of Managers and Leaders and a delivery team of over 60 professionals.

As a charity, Encore is governed by a board of voluntary trustees who provide support and guidance to the staff team and take on a range of responsibilities associated with being a trustee.

We are looking to recruit new trustees to the board to continue with this vital support and advancement of the organisation.

We’re looking for someone who can:

  • Support the organisation, in partnership with the Director of Encore, in support of Encore’s charitable objectives

  • Be part of a diverse and inclusive Board team to ensure Encore delivers on its objectives and strategy

  • Act as an ambassador for Encore and champion the services that we provide for the Children and Young People and the wider Community across Herefordshire.

Who we’re looking for

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Have experience of being a member of boards, committees or senior leadership meetings.

  • Have an understanding of governance (best practice)

  • Have experience of charity fundraising and income generation

  • Can commit the time and expertise to play a key role on our Board.

  • Share our passion for providing music and art opportunities for children and young people and the wider community.
